Too many people like to dance around the 'cause of death' subject (especially with celebs) and place blame on anything other than fully admitting that she was simply an addict who couldn't recover for whatever the reason. Whoever was drinking and 'partying' with her the night before she died are obviously not her real friends, and probably just hangers-on. Anyone who knows about the disease of addiction or even has common sense should have known that she was not recovered and obviously didn't care. I'm sober a year now and am so glad that I'm a) not a celebrity b) don't have access to huge funds or c) do not have an army of 'yes' people at my side. It would have served as a wonderful denial/ enabling tactic and my addict side of me would have had its last word !  Agree with this article. I was thinking this very thing....people will skate around the addiction side of this reality of her death. I am sober 2.5 years and I could not do it without AA and the "we" of the program and God.
