Man charged with not disclosing HIV to 30 partners. Faces possible life imprisonment #HIV #AIDS

Too bad every single gay blog out there ignored this story because they’re busy yapping on STILL about Duck Dynasty and the Winter Olympics.

If you believe any of the three papers that the NY Daily News cites for this story, Johnson had 30 different partners, had bareback sex with them all after telling them that he was negative.  Men are coming forward now that he’s been arrested; some are HIV positive, and some have contracted various STI’s

An HIV positive college student could have knowingly infected more than 30 people with the deadly virus while secretly filming their sex romps on his laptop, police said.

Michael Johnson, 22, was charged with exposing sexual partners to HIV back in October but prosecutors just announced Thursday that a police investigation uncovered the incriminating videos, the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reported.

“On that laptop were 32 videos that depicted different individuals engaged in sexual acts with Mr. Johnson,” St. Charles County prosecutor Tim Lohmar told local station KMOV.

Most of the 32 sex tapes were recorded in his dorm room at Lindenwood University in St. Charles, Mo

The videos allegedly show Johnson having unprotected sex with various people he met through social media.

The St. Charles Police Department believes that his sex partners did not know that he had the virus or that their actions were being filmed.

Lohmar wants anyone who may have been infected by Johnson to come forward.

“It’s a matter not only of their individual safety but public safety as well,” Lohmar said to KMOV.

The St. Charles Police Department built a case against Johnson over the course of a five-month investigation that started a month after a man told police he was diagnosed with HIV and gonorrhea after having sex with Johnson in his dorm room, The Indianapolis Star reported.

The bolding above is mine.  Notice how the NYDN had to shamelessly sensationalize this with “the deadly virus”.  Yes, I’ve already dropped an email on the offending reporter for his poking the stigma bear with a big stick.

I’ve said this before and it bears repeating:  The guilt here is a two way street.  Johnson should have absolutely disclosed; what gives him the right to decide whether or not someone will be exposed as well as the level or risks they want to take?

More importantly, the guys who slept with him bear an equal responsibility.  You ALL took a hot guy you met online at his word.  Um, DUH!  You can’t unring that bell, or rend your garments while crying, “it was the heat of the moment!  It was hormones!”  Bullshit.  It’s your HIV status you played with, as simple as that.

Johnson picked the wrong state to commit this in.  If he’s found guilty, the offenses are felonies and he’s looking at 10 to life.  The level of felony changes if the guys seroconvert as Missouri still thinks HIV is a deadly virus.

Any wonder the movement to change/repeal HIV felony laws goes nowhere?
