The 16 year old gay kid who’s smarter than you are. WAY smarter than you are.
When you do the news long enough, you become cynical, bitter, and twisted after you’re continually pummeled with stories that bring you down. In the gay news, that’s even more prevalent. The current – and intensely sad – habits of reporting gay news are:
—This person said the “F” word
—This group hates us and here’s why
—This group/person/entity is standing in the way of gay marriage
Ugh..it’s a total and complete letdown and just the thought of perusing the gay news depresses me to the point of tears. And then you see a story like this one. A 16 year old gay kid has developed a near 100% accurate test for pancreatic, lung and ovarian cancer. He developed it in the garage of his parents house.
The cost of the test? Three cents.
He’s an incredible kid, and I have a feeling that he’s going to be one of the ones we’re going to be reading about for a very long time.
