18 year old detained for the murder of Stuart Walker
An 18-year-old man has been detained by police in connection with the death of barman Stuart Walker.
Strathclyde Police confirmed the man was taken into custody on Thursday evening, less than a week after Mr Walker’s body was discovered at an industrial estate in Cumnock, Ayrshire.
A police spokeswoman said: “We can confirm that an 18-year-old man is currently detained in connection with this inquiry.”
Mr Walker, 28, died after suffering what police describe as “horrible injuries”.
His body was discovered shortly before 5am on Saturday.
The 28-year-old’s death was raised in both the House of Commons and the Scottish Parliament this week, with Prime Minister David Cameron urging members of the public to come forward and help detectives.
This latest news is developing. More when I find facts to share, as there are some conflicts in information being shared right now. Most reports say the 18 year old is being detained for questioning – they are not saying he’s been arrested and/or will be charged at this point.
