Earthquake Survival Diary – Live Updates for those in need
I started keeping a diary of survival tweets for those of us trying to begin life anew after the devastating quake that rocked the east coast of the United States yesterday, but as my son reminded me Twitter is notorious for failing during a crisis, I’ve chosen to move things to my site as a more stable platform.
As I’ve been thru major crises before, I feel uniquely qualified to share my strength, hope and experience with any of you that might be struggling. This post will update live, as it happens, for as long as the internet holds out.
Hopefully this journal will survive. I hope you do too:
First entry, day one after the great quake: shot my first looter. must send edible arrangement to the mailman’s family w/ a cute “oopsie” hallmark card
Second entry, day one after the great quake: organizing a rock, paper, scissors with the neighbors to see who we eat first. meeting some resistance..

Update #7: had to give back two of the kids to that shrill woman on my front porch. Just as well, their earning potential seemed a bit limited.

Update #6. Rounding up the neighborhood children, having a crash course on how they can best panhandle for money and food. First kid that comes back with a ten spot is allowed in the house tonight for supper. Be right back, there’s some hysterical woman on my front porch screaming and pointing to one of the kids…

Update #4: Just finished fortifying the house against future looters. Told the old woman that lives next to me I don’t know what happened to her antique wrought iron fence surrounding her property. So far she seems to be buying it.
Must add her to the those-we-eat list as she is easy picking…

Update #3: Criteria changed for selecting those to be sacrificed in case the food runs out. Found my list of people who looked down their nose at my Spam Ratatouille during last years block party. Special consideration given here.
