Woman asks “why me?”after a suicide jumper lands on her car (poor baby)

Honest to God, the amazing selfishness of some people:

As the New York Post puts it, “her car was crushed—and so is she.” The woman who owned the Dodge Charger responsible for breaking the fall of a young man who jumped off the 40th floor of a building yesterday wants to know why it had to be her car that broke his fall. The 42-year-old woman complained to the Post that she’d just had an oil change and filled the car with gas.

She expressed some concern for the 22-year-old man, who told police he “wanted to die,” but then wondered: “Does he feel like an idiot?” The woman’s husband was much more charitable. He ponied up the $500 deductible and said despite the advice he received from his insurance company, he would not sue the young man:  He has enough to worry about, It’s a very small price to pay.”

Not only did the man survive the 400-foot fall, he only suffered some broken bones and blood clots. A Dodge spokesman, seizing the opportunity, said it was the Charger’s “high-strength steel structure” that cushioned the man’s fall.
