Chicago-Based Anti Gay Group Heated over "Hate" Label

Well, it walks like a duck and talks like a duck…

The anti-gay group Americans for Truth about Homsexuality (AFTAH) has their knickers in a knot because they’re being labeled as a hate group.

A Chicago-based gay rights group, the Gay Liberation Network successfully lobbied the Southern Poverty Law Center to add AFTAH to the list of hate groups it monitors.  The SPLC included the group is the most recent issue of it’s quarterly publication intelligent report.

According to their own site, AFTAH is a “national organization devoted exclusively to exposing and countering the homosexual activist agenda”.

Again with the “homosexual agenda”.  I’ll never know where I am supposed to be if somebody doesn’t give me a copy of this agenda I’ve heard about for years from these groups.

After getting their feelings hurt by this label (and banging their spoon on their high chair to no avail), the group president Peter LaBarbera responded that, “thankfully, it seems the only people taking the SPLC seriously anymore are the liberal media and hardened, ‘Move On’-types on the left. The SPLC is a spent force when it comes to moral authority – and even some honest liberals are seeing through its disingenuous campaign to redefine morality as ‘hate’ and ‘bigotry’.”

Well, if in fact they’re that useless, why are you so upset about your newfound moniker?  One that you’ve aptly earned at that.

You can’t have it both ways, Petey.  Pick a side and let’s stick there shall we?
