New Substance Use/Abuse Article
I wrote an article for a nonprofit group that takes an extensive look into the problems faced by the sexual minority with regard to:
- How much more the LGBT community is predisposed to addiction problems compared to heterosexuals.
- Treatment disparties in the Midwest US versus the east and west coasts, and the lack of treatment programs that take into account issues of the sexual minority.
- Acquiring and maintaining sobriety.
The article is entitled “A Chemical Dependency Conundrum”, and you can jump to it here. It’s not a short post, but I hope that you take the time to read it in it’s entirety. Any comments/criticisms/feedback is certainly welcome.
