A Code of Ethics
I came across an interesting post that encompassed a code of ethics for blogging. I’ll post the link below and I want to make it clear that authoritative credit goes to Christopher Di Spirito. I’m sharing the link because I think it’s a very important roadmap that I completely support.
Also, I want to point out that I am a professional journalist. I’ve worked for the last 18 years as a professional photojournalist for one of the largest news sources in the world. I am just now beginning to write professionally (less than 5 years), so we’ll see how that feather looks in my cap. Whether or not I continue writing – or excel at it – will be determined by time and my devotion to it.
At no point should anything I post in my blog be construed as a professional undertaking on behalf of my employer, organized group, or nonprofit agency. This site is my personal endeavor, and aligned with no one. While I may write something on behalf of a group if the cause is warranted, that will be disclosed at the time. If something I post gets a buy somewhere or becomes an assignment for my professional pimp (translation: my editors), then I will clearly identify it as such. Other than that disclaimer, what you see is clearly and solely my .02 cents.
As usual, comments and criticisms are welcome.
